Top 5 TNA Moments

TNA has been doing more harm than good in a lot of people eyes recently, so I just wanted to remind myself and anyone who feels TNA still has a chance or anyone who is a TNA fan how good it has been at times.
Now these moments may not of changed TNA for the good or the bad, these moments may not be remembered by many but to me they are great moments for the company.

5
Hogan is TNA

Number 5 makes it to the list simply because of the significance of the main man involved.  Almost 4 years ago the Immortal Hulk Hogan went and joined TNA, I never heard or read anything about this happening until it actually was announced on October 27th 2009.
Hogan carrying considerably more good stock back then, going to TNA was either a well grabbed signature in the Impact Zones filing cabinet or desperation from a "money and spotlight grabbing" aging Hulkster.
Either way when I heard about this I was amazed, shocked and had to watch the January 4th 2010 episode of Impact to see Hollywood turn up in the number 2 promotion. In my eyes if anything can get you to watch TNA it's got to be a good thing!

Four for RAW

So here it is the go home RAW before Heck in a Cell. Leading into PPVs RAW normally delivers a wrestle light, segment heavy kind of show maybe to protect talent and leave us wanting the physicality more at the PPV. With the contract signing between Bryan and Orton I think there is a good chance that we may not see either of the two in a actual match tonight.
So what can RAW offer us before entering the Devil's Playground.

Personally I love a big brawl to end a RAW going into a PPV, it leaves things evenly matched between opponents as it's not a one on one situation. With contract signings usually ending in chaos, I wouldn't be shocked, but would be happy to see Bryan, Orton, Michaels, Triple H, Big Show, Cody & Goldie and The Shield in a huge brawl to sign out the show.

TNA. Try Harder or Stop Trying So Hard.

You know about TNA. It's that wrestling show you hate.
That statement is true for many, however some of us...(well me at least) just want TNA to strive to thrive and move upward and onward. Why?
Well firstly and probably most importantly, I don't wanna see dozens if not hundreds of people lose their jobs. We need to remember that there are real people behind the facepaint, masks and baby oil and not to mention all the office jobs involved with running a partially global wrestling promotion.
On top of that REAL stuff I would love TNA to become a true number 2 company and give fans more reason to celebrate them rather than constantly bash them. You see for many, especially UK wrestling fans, TNA is actually easier to watch than WWE.
Most digital TV subscriptions in the UK come with Challenge TV as a standard, where as WWE's UK home is on Sky Sports and costs in the region of £20-£30 to add to your subscription. So in the UK TNA should really have more support, but it's hard to support something when everybody is knocking it from left to right.

Finally! King Bingus on The Wrestling Chronicle's Piledriver Podcast

I want to give a huge thank you to Erik over at the The Wrestling Chronicle for giving me the chance to be a guest on his Piledriver Podcast show. This really is a big deal for me.

After finding a good use for Twitter by tweeting as KBW I soon stumbled upon @WrestlingChron and we had a few interactions and he read a couple of my tweets out on his show. This was a real compliment, because he didn't have to take the time out of his show to spread my tweets.

Does it matter if The Rock comes back?

Recently on an episode of the @SundaySegue Podcast Kinny asked me about my feelings towards The Rock returning...again. Since he asked me it's been whirling around in my head.
To me it is a bit of a mixed bag of thoughts, pros and cons with swings and roundabouts.
Do I dislike The Rock, nope. He's done nothing to offend me, infact all he has ever done is entertain me and literally millions.... AND MILLIONS like myself.

(Don't worry, I'm not putting a Hogan/Warrior WCW mirror joke here)

So why would I not be too bothered if we don't see the great one back in the squared circle?

Four for RAW

Battleground served more as a three hour RAW preshow than a big PPV. But as a preshow it has done a damn good job of hyping up RAW tonight. Tonight we will see the return of the Rhodes clan, some form of advancement of the WWE Championship saga including Bryan, Orton, Triple H and now Big Show by the looks of things. We may also see seeds planted for a tag title defence for the near future!
There's a good chance that we will end up hearing from the newest Paul Heyman Guy and big guy, Ryback, crying about his ruined honeymoon.
There's a lot that could happen tonight, some of it way more obvious than other and I am excited to see what seeds will be planted going into the last quarter of the WWE calendar.

Can anything really happen on RAW? I would love it to. Can you imagine if tonight a WWE Championship match was set and we got a new actual champion? I would love it to! Whenever we get to see a new champion on RAW it's pretty much always an awesome night.
Despite the image above, I am not even suggesting it should Bryan. Orton, Big Show or even a relative outsider such as Ziggler, Ryback or Punk would make for a good Monday night.

Sunday Segue Battleground Predictions

I must be doing something right because Kinny Killa and Sugs asked me to join them on their Sunday Segue Podcast. This weeks episode is a four man effort as @TopRopeElbow joined us to shoot the breeze on last Monday's RAW and give out Battleground predictions.

Battleground isn't exactly going in with all the bells and whistles but that shouldn't stop you enjoying the actual show. There is a few opportunities for advancements and new chapters from tonights card involving a number of Superstars.

Ziggler VS Sandow
I'm going for a Ziggler win here. Just by the logic that the briefcase is extra weight on the owners shoulders, making it harder to seemingly kick out. But will this Kickoff match be the last we see of Mr. Money in the Bank tonight?

22 Sept 2013

There is no pleasing some

To paraphrase the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln,

You can please some of the people some of the time, All of the people some of the time, Some of the people all of the time but you can never please All of the people all of the time.

Right now in within the IWC this is true in regards to the WWE and it's a great shame. 2013 has shaped up to be a truly remarkable year for WWE with the use of new talent, making good use of established names and heading in a new direction. Keeping well within their PG shackles they have proved they can still make for brilliant TV and top flight action.

Prior to 2013's momentum the IWC and the Universe was up in arms, screaming for a new face to take over from Cena. Of course we had the Summer of Punk but Cena was still taking charge in most of that, champion or not.
Many of us felt disgruntled, feeling like the WWE was ignoring its "key & most important" fan sector. Truth being WWE was just doing what its always done in cycles and thats pull in its new fan base. The future fan base, without which they wouldn't be able to entertain anyone let alone the "key & most important" fan base.
If you're a twitterer there's a very good chance you've seen a tweet or two today professing that the Attitude Era needs to come back and use "real" wrestlers.

KBW on the Sunday Segue Podcast

Today I had the pleasure of recording my first podcast to be broadcast with the @SundaySegue lads.
Kinny and Sugs gave me the opportunity to chuck in my two cents on the WWE from Wrestlemania to now.

I was so happy that these guys went out of their way to invite me on their show, it's this supportive, positive and friendly side to the IWC that gives me hope in wrestling fandom.
Kinny and Sugs normally will run down the weeks happenings in the WWE, mostly RAW with  Smackdown in 60 seconds and a brief touch on nXt and news and rumours. They have a very honest opinion and don't shy away from what they think!
That's right. Wrestling fans who not only think for themselves but will actually voice their opinion. You don't need to agree with them on everything they say, that's what is great about opinions, you can have your own.

But I do urge you to go and give Sunday Segue Podcast a listen on iTunes and get to know the guys from the UK.

Thanks again to Kinny and Sugs for giving me the chance to guest on their show!

Attitude Era Podcast got me thinking.

Over the last couple of episodes from @AEPodcast they have pointed something out that has got me thinking.

Now let's not get it twisted, these guys are genius. The whole format has got such a brilliant hook, niche....gimmick? Kevin, Billy and Adam take a step back to the beginnings of some the WWE's best years and tell the stories of the Attitude Era's PPVs and touch on the RAWs and I'm guessing Smackdowns to come. The trio from England and Ireland (maybe N.I, I'm not too sure? Sorry Kevin) are as funny as the idea of a pet coon, whipping a government mule until he's God damned broken in half!
Each episode is seamless with telling us how each PPV unfolded with a nice pace of comedy and, well, almost a play by play commentary.
I personally would like to ask Attitude Era Podcast if they would ever do a minute for minute full commentary, to say, Wrestlemania XV? I would love it and I hope other AEP supporters would love it too.

Top 10 Wrestling Ink

Tattoos are now a very much socially acceptable trend. Once being tattooed was just for a "certain type of person" such as punks, bikers, thugs & hooligans or the occasional veteran with a stamp of duty or souvenir of their time in the ranks. Tattoos had a stigma of general toughness and roughness.
Now getting inked is sexy and fashionable and they've been around in everyday life for a couple of decades, everyone from Grandmothers to their grandkids have them.
Having tattoos now is somewhat of a trophy to show you've endured full sleeve work and have the wallet to do so. Also it seems that more and more of the lady folk are impressed and into guys with a splash of ink.

Wrestling is no different. Tattoos can be found all over any roster from the shocking jesters (See Anderson) to some of the most elaborate sleeves and back pieces. Here is a quick list of 10 of the best and few honourable mentions. So if you like wrestling or tattoos take a scroll.

10
Rey Mysterio Jr

Rey has many tattoo all over his body with lots of meaning, his childrens names of his biceps, his hometown dial code and finisher on his forearms and Mexican across his stomach. However you can't look at Mysterio without noticing his spine on his....spine.
"Eighty percent of the falls we take are on our backs" Rey explains. "I thought it would be cool to design a tattoo on my spine showing how each vertebra should be aligned. Something I found cool is that when they filled it out on me, they said everything is pretty much as it should be. So it's all pretty much in place."

Let's talk. SummerSlam

SummerSlam is only bested by Wrestlemania in my opinion both in historic value and importance.
It has been home to many great and memorable moments and is one of the big four monthly shows, never dropped or moved around the calendar and has always held a certain amount of significance even in its early days.

Tonight sees SummerSlam on its 26th birthday, further solidify its status as the "Biggest event of the Summer" with a main event that has got me itching to see. The potential pay offs that could happen are everything a Attitude fan could want, with the McMahons and Triple H playing extras in the John Cena / Daniel Bryan feud over the WWE Championship and Randy Orton lurking in the shadows with his MiTB briefcase in tow, this could really be a landscape changing night.

During the go home episode of RAW John Cena teased a little .... Attitude Adjustment (seriously no pun intended)...of his own and gave Bryan a dry slap in retaliation over being told he wasn't a wrestler. Is this a little heel tease?

I'm dying to see a new side of Cena as much as the next guy, but I don't see it happening in reality. Partially down to the rumour he's taking time off after SummerSlam. It wouldn't make much sense turning just to leave, surely it'll be the anticlimax of the Summer if it did happen. Maybe a heel return but can't see him leaving as one.
Either way tonight could be the start of a new chapter in Cena's lengthy career (It's gone from 10 years strong to 12 years in 6 months apparently)

Mr. COO, Triple H who has a great SummerSlam history is the appointed official so the 1-2-3 is actually in his hand. Hunter has the power to help or screw who he wants here, even it's helping both superstars from getting screwed by McMahon or McMahons.
Triple H may call it straight down the middle to the last second and then screw either guy. Could Trips actually be on side with McMahons all along?
It maybe his role on the PPV could be for after the main event, he may call the Cena vs Bryan match down the middle just to screw the winner and assist Randy Orton to win after he cashes in.

I'm not claiming any of this is true or will happen. Hell I'd love none of this to happen so I can actually be shocked and happy with paying for this event.
The main event is what I'm really hyped for but with Punk and Lesnar about to put on a solid punch up I'm hoping at least two matches tonight will leave me hanging on for RAW tomorrow night.

Let's Talk. The Undertaker vs Cena.

John Cena squaring off against The Undertaker has already happened a few times through the mid 2000s but John Cena vs The Undertaker at Wrestlemania has never happened.

Will this ever happen? Could this ever happen? 'Taker may not have too many matches left and with the somewhat ambiguous situation involving The Shield, the white hot Daniel Bryan and Brock Lesnar looking for trouble there could be some other opponents for 'Taker to go for.

Would WWE or its fans benefit from pitting super Cena against The Deadman?
I believe given the right angle it could be oh so more than epic.

Personally I would love to see this match happen and have spent a few commutes to work thinking about how this could go down.

Respect

Hustle, Loyalty and Respect. It's what Cena is all about and it could play a part in this match up. If Cena decided to take the challenge to Undertaker he say it's all about respect and wants to have the honour to try and beat the streak.

30 Jul 2013

Let's get back to it.

Over the last couple of months I've not been very active within the IWC in any form. In that time I've planned out what I want from King Bingus Wrestling and I really want to bring people in the IWC together and possibly introduce non-fans to the community.

As always I want to be able to talk with fans from around the world to learn more about the industry and its history and also see how other people look at the business.
For this I need your input, your involvement, your questions, suggestions, videos, pics, memes and other positive contributions to get people talking.

In the next few weeks I will start recording a podcast for KBW and will want a different guest on each show to talk wrestling, so if you have Skype and you're a new fan, old fan, an actual wrestler, promoter, blogger, podcaster or even just a tweeter in the IWC and wanna join in just let me know.

I will also start trying to gain more momentum in other social sites such as G+, Facebook and Tumblr.
As I say, I want KBW to be a place for bringing fans together and find more like minded people, so I will do my best to always RT, follow, like and or shoutout as many interactions as possible to maximise the chance of people interacting with you.

I'm going to be posting polls, questions a few articles to keep things rolling but it's always going to be about you guys and your input to make this work.

Now let's see where this can go.

10 Jun 2013

Is WWE real?

As a wrestling fan you have, with out a doubt been told wrestling is fake.
I have been told that wrestling is fake fighting with fake blood, fake stories and I've even had someone tell me the ring is fake.
From here on in let's call these people Sheeple. That is what they are, right? Just a bunch of know it alls who want to ruin your fun. Sheeple for some reason will nonsensically spew their closed minded opinions for as long as you want to defend your own opinion.....They seem to have a lot of spare time and energy for this, so be careful if you want to take them on.

Now when I have some one telling me that I'm a childish fool for liking WWE or pro-wrestling I don't feel the need to justify my self, but I do feel the need to give them a few reasons to think about wrestling a little different. Not wanting to be a salesman, spokes person or ambassador but just giving a couple of facts that may make Sheeple look at it in a new way.

It Doesn't Hurt
First and most prominent argument that people tend to go with is that the "fighting" is staged and choreographed. Yeah sure it is predetermined and spots are planned, even some the moves and throws you see may have very little if any impact. But can you imagine a WWE match where every punch, kick and throw is real? It's called MMA and I, for one, am not a huge fan of watching men completely knock the snot out of each other.
So that means WWE doesn't hurt, right? EGH-UGH! Of course it does, the men and women that entertain us fans on a weekly to nightly basis go through ridiculous amounts of physical abuse. The recent case of Edge having to hang up the boots and retire in such Hollywood story fashion was down to injury. The injury was not like a one off career killing moment but more of a breakdown after years of using his body to entertain us.
Edge is one of many wrestlers who have had to retire due to their bodies being one bad landing away from a drastic life altering injury from taking bump after bump, night after night for a good 300+ days a year plus travel.
OK, OK Sheeple I hear you! How could anyone possibly go night in night out getting beaten up for real all year long? Not even Mikey Whipwreck could really do it. Boxers and UFC fighters could really max out 2-3 big fights a year but our guys must be fake because they get up the next day and do it all again.
It's true our guys are entertainers, working for a entertainment company, but they take some serious damage. The history of pro-wrestling is littered with injury, from the "small" finger breaks, to the Sids of the ring going all jelly legged, to the Brets and Edges having to walk away for good.
Pro-wrestling is predetermined, the matches are called but the action takes its toll in a big way and as cliche as it may seem, the risks are very real.

It's all soap opera with added baby oil

Yes. Baby oil. My only answer to that is there is less now than in the 80's and 90's.
But the soap opera part does have some weight behind it in all fairness and truth. Just like I have already pointed out for the Sheeple, wrestling is pre-planned, predetermined, choreographed, scripted so can it not be soap?
I'm sorry to tell you sXe_Punker20-1's, CenationsGurl16's and WWEfanmaniac's but wrestling you watch is not a documentary. The stories, rivalries and feuds you see are written to make you think it could all be real because of the blurry line they create between fact and fiction, sometimes these lines get ripped to pieces with the likes of the Montreal Screw Job, Austin vs McMahon, Edge-Lita-Matt Hardy love affair all of which make art imitate life and life imitate art.
With todays vomit inducing batch of  "reality" TV like Jersey Shore, Made in Chelsea and tripe like Wife-Swap it has become increasingly harder to seperate what's real and what's not on TV.
So WWE maybe scripted like a soap opera but can be as real as any reality show on TV today, if not more so due to the fact that the people performing these stories can some times have their very real lives played out on screen.

Is It Real?
Even as a life long fan, I don't think I have the vocabulary or law school teachings to give an accurate conclusion for myself let alone the Sheeple of this world due to the often blurry line of reality that wrestling carries. Sure I can agree that a huge part of it is on paper before it hits our screens but such a huge compelling part is still kinda real.

Well maybe not as much as happy chappy here.
The fact that wrestling does have this blurry line I think leaves it open for us to make up our minds on its authenticity. I will still give Sheeple a gentle reminder of what these performers go through physically and some of what you see on its programming can be as close to life as any reality show out there.
One thing these Sheeple do need to learn is,
Even if wrestling is fake, it doesn't hurt for anyone to suspend their belief of reality to enjoy what they're watching. Just like most humans do when watching Eastenders, Days of Our Lives, House, Breaking Bad, Bridget Jones' Diary or Die Hard. Every now and again we just like to leave our real world and immerse ourselves in something we enjoy. It's just wrestling has more baby oil.

Top 10 Moments from @bunnysuicida

Being a shameless self promoter, when asked by King Bingus if I could write a companion piece to his top 10 moments of Raw, I of course jumped at the chance. So I'm stepping away from the Suicida Appraisal articles to tell you dear reader about some of the moments in wrestling that will love long in my memory. I suppose I'd better prepare you for some "left-field" entries but this is my list, and you'll have plenty of time to tell me I've got my head up my backside after you've read it, okay? Good, so without further ado, in no particular order, my top ten moments of wrestling.

10.  Who's next?

For everything WCW did wrong, one thing that no-one can argue that it didn't get wrong was the rise of Bill Goldberg, the former Atlanta Falcon turned one man wrecking crew. Goldberg's legendary winning streak was a thing of beauty, and a genuine highlight of Monday Nitro as Bill marched down to the ring, breathing fire and murdered his opponent with insane power moves. This put him on a collision course with Hollywood Hogan, leader of the nWo and the man who held the World Heavyweight Championship in a chokehold. The setting for this showdown was in Atlanta itself, both Goldberg's home town & WCW's base of operations, and in front of a sold out crowd of very vocal fans, arguably the biggest match in WCW history would take place. The stage was set earlier in the night as Goldberg defended his United States championship against Scott Hall, thus earning a match with Hogan in the main event. Being honest, the mechanics of the match are pretty standard, given Goldberg's limited ability and well, Hogan, what makes this special to me is the atmosphere, this whole deal feels like a very special occasion and everyone involved played their role to perfection, even the much maligned WCW commentary team, the crowd too are salivating at the prospect of their hometown hero defeating the wicked Hogan, even going so far as to cheer the opening bell, which is very rare nowadays. This was the peak of WCW and while it's easy to remember the Russo booked lunacy that would characterise WCW's latter days, it's this point that I choose to remember when thinking of WCW.

King Bingus Top 10 .... RAW moments

We all have our favorite wrestling moments. We all have those memories of watching wrestling and thinking that we have just seen something amazing, surprising, special, historic and even sometimes funny. Or it may be that you have been to a live show and caught up in the atmosphere made in the arena and created a bit of an emotional attachment to the show.
I wouldn't blame you, live shows are 1010 times better than they come across on TV.

Many of these moments for wrestling fans, with good chance, would have been provided by WWE PPV or TV. These moments maybe in form of backstage interviews or brawls, in ring action or promos, or a formation of new a team. WWE's Monday night, flagship, weekly, episodic, longest running, highest tweeted, most viewed show on TV, 3 hour, RAW could also be responsible for your favorite moments in wrestling.

This is a quick look at my personal favorite Raw moments and little bit on why I like them so much.

10.  RAW IS JERICHO - August 9 1999

By this point I had become fully immersed with in WWE and was just so into the whole product. Every week just seemed to deliver more gold than the last and I had been getting hyped by a countdown to the millennium clock on Raw.
I was a complete spoiler free kid watching Raw in a TV lounge of a hotel in Spain with a dozen or so kids all as compelled by wrestling as me.
When the countdown clock interrupted none other than The Rock we knew what ever was about to happen was gonna be big. Then this guy who I didn't recognize appeared and a couple of the other kids in the lounge piped up by telling us he was a WCW wrestler. It was at that point I knew we was in for a treat and what followed just pumped me up more.
This made it to the top 10 not only because of the debut it self but also what that moment gave us WWE fans.

Guest Article for The Wrestling Chronicle

I would like to thank Erik over at The Wrestling Chronicle for giving me the chance to write a guest article for the site.

The post is all about Kofi Kingston and the struggle he has getting through his glass ceiling with in the WWE.
I take a look at his first few years on the roster and go on to talk about a few of the problems he has run into icluding speedy pushes and slow dry patches. His career some what seems to picking up and dropping gears every other few months and I think a performer as talented as him should be used to his capabilities.

The full post can be read at http://www.thewrestlingchronicle.com/2013/05/wake-up-and-smell-kofi.html

If you are a young wrestling fan wanting to learn or an older fan who wants to hear some positive and constructive views follow Erik on Twitter @wrestlingchron , download the piledriver podcast and go and like The Wrestling Chronicle on Facebook.

Can WWE see me?

This week on Twitter I got involved in a conversation with @IfinRatedR and @VegasKustom about WWE ignoring its core fan base and investing too much time and effort in the younger fan base.
I'm 26 years old, I have been watching wrestling (mostly exclusively WWE) for the best part of 21-22 of these years and I was questioning do WWE care about people in the same bracket and older? Or are they focused solely on the CeNation Army munchkins?
Honestly, I feel it is both.

Unless you've just crawled out of the boiler room of you will know that WWE is PG. This simply means, of course it is directed at the young audience. Over the past several years WWE has changed from the blood soaking - boobie bouncing - weapon wielding - bird flipping - gritty - bonkers world it once was. It now prefers the family friendly - hand clappy - lady skipping - shiny glossy world.
This to me still doesn't prove that WWE has lost touch with the older bunch. Not even close.
Sure we can bang on all day about Cena running the place in Superman mode for the kids to cheer and adore, but we had Hogan doing the exact same thing! Sure the Hulkster only had two colours at the time but he still came out in the brightest yellow and reds, was all wholesome and all patriotic, put across messages of goodness and was cleaner than a DDP smile.

5 May 2013

Let's talk. Cena heel?

Being a wrestling fan you may of heard of a guy who has won championships, been on TV almost  every week over the past 10 years, appears on least 11 out of 12 PPVs, gets mixed reviews from fans around the world and has worked as hard as anyone in the WWE today. In my opinion he's still not given the credit he deserves, the guy is a work horse and does whats asked of him, in what seems to be, every instance. You know exactly who I mean, but before you go saying "Ugh! Had enough of reading about this guy and what everyone thinks of him" don't worry. I'm not gonna bang on all day about Michael Cole, as the title suggests I'm here to talk about John Cena.
To be exact I wanna talk about the potential and idea of Cena turning heel. If you have ever been on twitter and seen anything about Cena on there, chances are it's about one of a few things;
1. Cena is WWEs god and can do no wrong and is the best of the best of the best of the bestest best!
2. Cena sucks and needs to be heel by next week or I'm tuning out
3. Cena sucks and needs to die.
Now point number 3 needs to stop. If you are wishing death upon a performer for doing their job, a job you would wear your own testicles as earrings to do, you are a shabby human being and need to do some thinking about your own life.
Points 1 and 2 have some real merrit to be discussed further.
Whether you like him or not, whether you buy into the character or not, there is no reason to totally discount the first two points.

Welcome to King Bingus Wrestling, Post the 1st

Hello and Thank you for visiting King Bingus Wrestling.

I have been a wrestling, more so a WWE fan for over 20 years.
Don't get it twisted I do enjoy any and all wrestling I see, not including that blood soaked - botch fest - storyless tripe that is "backyard" trash however WWE has been my mainstay since childhood just like most if not all wrestling fans of this era.

Growing up watching such legends as Randy Savage and Ric Flair to over the top characters as Million Dollar Man and Sgt.Slaughter, and personal heroes like Davey Boy Smith and of course Hulk Hogan never failed to keep me entertained and glued to the TV. I was introduced to this amazing spectacle by an Uncle of mine who got me a copy of SummerSlam '88 on VHS which I watched over and over until I had pretty much learned the whole show line for line. From there I pestered my family to get me all the tapes they could find of WWE for birthdays, Christmas, Easter.......Tuesdays...

As satellite television started rolling out through the UK I was able to catch a little more wrestling from time to time and resorted on borrowing any tapes my relatives or friends were able to record for me. After a while I kinda lost effort in trying to keep up with WWE and around 1995-1996 I had pretty much stopped watching all together. It wasn't until 1999 when my mum got Sky TV for our home and I knew I was able to watch WWE when ever it was on. Later that week I spotted Royal Rumble on the listings and tuned in straight away. The first thing I saw was some guy swing a chair at this other guy wearing a shirt, tie and mask, the swing missed its target, bounced of the ropes and rebounded into the first guys face. As the match went on I knew I was watching something different to what I'd been used to watching years previous. The match was indeed The Rock vs Mankind for the WWE Championship in a "I QUIT" match. This match got me hooked in a new way...I had found my lifetimes hobby, interest and all favourite form of entertainment on any platform.

Since then I have stayed tuned into WWE and had dabbled with WCW and ECW when I could find it on tape or DVD, however living in the UK WWE was much easier to find than its competition. Once I got the internet I become a fan on a whole new level. Wrestling and WWE was now a couple of clicks away and I could now catch up with what I'd missed out on a few years prior. After a short while in came YouTube and it all changed again. I was now able to watch WWE on a completly new level and also talk with other fans around the world.

The evolution of my wrestling fanhood has recently turned to twitter where I have been able to talk with true wrestling fans in some depth over time.... Well, as much as 140 characters allows. Thats my main beef with twitter 140 characters just isn't enough to say what I wanna say. So the evolution continues. I have started this blog for somewhere to talk about what I'm passionate about with people who also have anything from a slight passing interest to any superfan who lives and loves wrestling.
I'm not here to proclaim that I am all knowledgeable and what I say is always right, I am not dumb enough to think I know everthing! By talking with as many fans as possible the possibilities of learning more about wrestling are endless.

Wrestling fans no matter what some may think are some the most passionate and loyal fans of any form of entertainment and I am really looking forward to reading and hearing what you all have to say and with the help from each one of you make a positive wrestling community based around true fans of WWE and true fans of wrestling.
